These ones have no example to show the child. They are teachers, who cheat and aid their pupils to cheat in examination. They are schools, who organise and sponsor mass examination malpractices for their pupils in external examinations as a strategy to keep the parents coming to register their children.
They train the child for a life of deception and cheating. Unfortunately, it is absolutely impossible for anyone to cheat his or her way through life. So when an institution of learning aids pupils to cheat in examinations they set them up for failure by equipping them with the wrong tool for facing the issues of life.
They convince the child that there are shortcuts in life when in actual fact there are no shortcuts. The unfortunate thing is that in most cases they mess up the children, who go through them for life.
My wife recently took a post graduate course in education in one of Nigeria’s university. Her course mates were teachers. To her amazement she found during their examination that the teachers were experts in examination malpractices. She found that the teachers were not only addicted to cheating as a way of passing examinations, they were also encouraged by invigilators to do same. As my wife shared her experiences with me, I wept inside of me. How would teachers, who themselves engage in examination malpractices as a means of passing examination teach their pupils otherwise? How would the invigilators, who are supposed to be the custodians of virtues in the educational sector, who now aid and abet examination malpractices, raise a standard of probity and preserve humanity? How? How? How?
I beg to sign out here. By God’s grace, I will be back here tomorrow to discuss another hindrance. Do have an INSPIRED day. I charge you today to Think the CHILD…Think TODAY…Think the FUTURE…
