#THEPREACHERONMISSIONARYJOURNEYS AND THE LESSONS THEREOF

I, The Preacher shall take a Missionary Journey to the city of Port Harcourt, in the State of Rivers, in the Region of South-South of the land of Nigeria on this LORD’S day…

I, The Preacher shall be the Guest/Facilitator of the British Council, who The Preacher has worked with in Child Protection and related matters for some years now and also VALIDATED to train the Child Protection components of the Core Skills and Competences program of the British Council.

The Missionary Journey of The Preacher to the city of Port Harcourt shall be to deliver the Child Protection components(which The Preacher worked with the erudite BC team to develop) of the Fast Forward Program of the British Council, being implemented by LEAP Africa…

The Fast Forward Program is designed to train 300 teachers and school leaders in 3 states(Lagos, Rivers and Cross Rivers States) on Entrepreneurial Skills and they will in turn equip their students…

It is the British Council cardinal position that it is no more fashionable for anyone to give care or education to our precious children without basic KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS in Child Protection…

The reasoning behind the foregoing GLOBAL RESOLVE are is very simple and mainly as follows:
1. The closer a person is to our precious children, the higher the possibility of abuse…
2. Abusers are not often necessarily wicked, they only lack KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ATTITUDE to provide care and protection of our precious children…
3. Abusers are often caregivers, who lost their CHILDHOOD to abuses and never found help and their primary disposition towards children is being ABUSIVE, without even knowing it…
4. Our precious children are not in any way safe in the hands of primary and secondary caregivers, who lack adequate expertise in Child Protection…

I, The Preacher do earnestly hope that African private and public institutions will borrow a very useful and inevitable leaf from BEST GLOBAL PRACTICES and take the decision not to expose any child under their watch to caregivers without adequate expertise in Child Protection…

The matter of Child Protection and quality care for our precious children require SUPREME URGENCY and I, The Preacher pray that God, the giver of our precious children will grant us all UNDERSTANDING and WISDOM to act in the BEST INTEREST OF OUR PRECIOUS AFRICAN CHILDREN and do the very NEEDFUL…

I, The Preacher shall return to the city of Lagos to facilitate the widely subscribed TeacherFIRE Revolution of The Taiwo AKINLAMI Academy on Thursday, November 3, 2016 and shall proceed to the city of Ibadan on Friday, November 4, 2016 to preach the Glorious Gospel there also and shall from Ibadan visit the area of Ajah, Lagos on Saturday, November 5, 2016 to preach the Glorious Gospel at the Parents/Teachers Association Meeting of an Institution of Learning…

To the hands of Him, WHO called and WHO alone be the GLORY for great and effective open doors, I, The Preacher commit his ways and preaching. So HELP me GOD…

I, The Preacher also ask for your prayers that the LORD will grant The Preacher unusual UTTERANCE for UNFORGETTABLE IMPACT.

Do have an INSPIRED week.
Do have an INSPIRED week and I remain Sober on my Knees on the LORD’S day.

iProtect™ for School on Monday: When a Child Dies and The School is Accused: What is the Globally-Compliant and LEGAL Measure of Establishing Culpability or Otherwise?

This is a strange advocacy for me. I am an advocate of prevention through enlightenment. That is why it is our core belief in matters of Child Protection is that Enlightenment is Superior to Enforcement™.

This piece is precipitated by the sad news that was posted on this platform last week. It reads, ‘a pupil died in one of the schools around us here. He was in school on Thursday last week as the story has it. But he was taken to hospital on Friday because he complained of pain on the chest. He was X-rayed and it was revealed he has lumps of blood around his chest area probably as a result of a fall. He passed on last Sunday but the story took a bitter twist when his family started making a case with the school that the boy fell in school but that the school management concealed it.’

I do this piece today, using this fresh but sad case as an opportunity for a clarion call to action.

The mere fact that a child dies in a school or under the care of a school does not make the school culpable except a clear case of negligence is established.

The question however is, what is the benchmark for culpability or otherwise. I think the benchmark for culpability is not good intentions alone. Interestingly, sincerity is not the leading the tool here.

What then is the benchmark? The global benchmark of establishing culpability or otherwise is whether there is a Child Protection System in place, codified into a policy, which carefully and professionally identifies the roles and responsibilities of every handler, the child comes across in the school and equip through consistent training, briefing and debriefing the handlers to play the assigned roles. Handler here will include everyone within the school system, who relate with the children directly or indirectly. The foregoing will include academic, non-academic, support staff, service providers and visitors.

The first question globally is always what professional measures are put in place for the protection of children at all times? The Child Protection System, codified in to a Child Protection Policy is a major game changer for the school in terms of the quality of protection available to the children and her defense against negligence.

Therefore, in cases like arise, the quality of protection and the culpability or otherwise of the school is determined by the existing Child Protection System and adherence to same.

Let me say finally that I have studied extensively the circumstances under which children have died in schools within our beloved country and please check it out; the schools are more often than not culpable. Their culpability is traceable to two fundamental issues: 1. Lack of Child Protection System codified into a policy; 2. Failure to adhere to the tenets of the Child Protection System due to internal compromises and lack of expertise to prevent or respond.

It is no more fashionable or professional to hang the protection of the precious children under our care the skeletal banner of hope. Professionalism and best practice demand that we take practical and effective steps toward the protection of our precious children.

The question, which all of us as teachers and school leaders must ask and answer now is very simple, does your school have a functional Child Protection System, codified into a policy? If you do, I rejoice with you that you have taken professional and globally compliant measures to ensure and assure the protection of the precious children under your care.

If you do not have a Child Protection System, codified into a Child Protection policy, I make bold to say, having spent over 19(nineteen) years and invested thousands of dollars, researching this subject matter and working with leading local and international organisations within and outside the educational sector, you are countless miles behind schedule in the protection of the precious children within your care. Therefore you cannot categorically say, with the strength of best practice and professionalism that the children under your care are safe and sadly, you are utterly defenseless, if cases of abuse occur within your institution of learning.

Permit me to rest my case here and advice that both parents and school leadership, in the case under review should call for a coroner enquiry into the cause and circumstances of death of the child as the immediate way forward, working with the Lagos State Government.

I, The Preacher shall be available for clarifications and professional guidance both at all level.

Do have an INSPIRED week.

‘Your Father might be DEAD, but HIS WORDS are not DEAD…’ From UYO With INVALUABLE INSPIRATION & ETERNAL LESSONS…

I, The Preacher was in the city of Uyo with my dear wife and fellow Preacher, Preaching the Glorious Gospel According to Child Rights Protection and Family Strengthening…

I Preached the Gospel to Teachers, Parents and Students and I had a great and exceptional moments, particularly with the commendable hospitality of our great hosts, Rev. & Rev. Mrs. David.

I, The Preacher encountered a woman and a moment that has kept me sober on my knees till this LORD’S day since we departed Uyo on Friday, October 7, 2016..,

After speaking to the receptive parents of Beulah International School, who received the Glorious Gospel with great joy and ovation on their feet…then my most memorable moment of the entire Missionary Journey came…

I, The Preacher was by our iProtect Academy Stand, answering further questions and taking responses, when I got into a conversation with a single parents of the highly esteemed institution of learning…

She lost her husband two years ago or thereabouts, who left behind two precious children…

The husband, before he died made a promise to their first child, that his 10th birthday will be celebrated outside the country…

Now, when the child was going to turn 10, he discussed with his mother, the promise that his father made to him and expressed doubt if the promise will ever see the light of day now that the father was late…

I, The Preacher was invaluably INSPIRED by the response of the mother…She simply made my day…She said to her son, your father might be DEAD but his WORDS are not DEAD…They are YET VERY MUCH ALIVE…Mummy will fulfil to you the promise dad made to you…

The inspirational single mother told me that it was not too convenient and many people have done their bit to discourage her, but she was determined to preserve her late husband LEGACY…The tickets were booked and the trip will be a REALITY…

What is the LEGACY?
The LEGACY is not the fulfillment of the promise the late father made in the strict sense of it…
It is a LEGACY of your dad and I had ONE VOICE…We were UNITED…
This establishes in the Child’s SOCIALIZATION the ONENESS in marriage and a commitment to promote same in his FUTURE HOME…

What is the LEGACY?
The LEGACY of TRUST…
That adults KEEP their WORDS to their precious CHILDREN, even when the ODDS are the TOUGHEST…

What is the LEGACY?
The LEGACY of helping her precious son recognise forever the POWER in WORDS and PROMISES made and he will not take his WORDS lightly to his FAMILY and his WORLD…

What is the LEGACY?
An INVALUABLE LEGACY…
SACRIFICIAL in its ADHERENCE…
ETERNAL in its IMPACT…
INSPIRATIONAL in its EXECUTION…
TOUCHING in its NARRATION…

Do have an INSPIRED week and I remain Sober on my Knees on the LORD’S day.

iProtect for School on Monday: Safety within the School System: An URGENT CALL FOR STRATEGIC ACTION…

iProtect for School on Monday

Safety within the School System: An URGENT CALL FOR STRATEGIC ACTION…

Sure you and family are doing well this beautiful Monday…

Permit me to say that I will come to you every Monday to share with you Child Protection issues…

Today, I will address Safety within the School System….

The more the state of our nation becomes dire, the citizens become more desperate…Sadly, I read last week of the invasion of a school in Epe, which was invaded by kidnappers during their morning assembly as about 8.AM, kidnapping children and teachers…

The question is, what steps must we take to secure our schools in the face of the insecurity we face as it relates to external invitation and rapidly growing ‘Kidnapping Industry…’

The attitude of Government, whose PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY is the SECURITY and the WELFARE of the people, according to the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria seems to more of REACTING than RESPONDING and PREVENTIVE…

In view of the foregoing, I think same way we have made alternative arrangement for all other social services, schools may begin to think about how to make adequate provisions for our safety and that of our precious children under our care…

As far as I am concerned, having studied extensively, criminal psychology and victimology, I know 3 main social factors create the room for the commission of any crime: 1. Intention to commit crime, 2. Rewards from Crime 3. Possibility of unfettered escape…All of the foregoing are present with us today, the state of the nation and its pressure creates the pressure for crime and the intention thereof. The fact that kidnappers are paid huge ransom creates the rewards. The porousness and comprised state of the state security, with no plan for preventive measures as led by the police creates the room for unfettered escape.

In view of the foregoing, at risk of sounding like a prophet of doom, I think the kidnappers are testing waters…They are rehearsing their anti-social acts by visiting some schools now…The more they are successful, the more their boldness to strike…The question therefore is WHO IS NEXT?

Before we say God forbid, which we must actually, but not without adding corresponding actions to it, I make bold to say today that as someone, who has invested the large chunk of my breath on observing matters of the protection of our precious children in black Africa, the kidnappers will remain miles ahead of us except we begin a serious conversation on this crucial matter.

I think the leaders of the educational sector should declare a STATE OF EMERGENCY within the sector concerning SECURITY, taking the following steps:
1. Urge each school to overhaul the entirety of the Security System within their school system, engaging child protection and security experts on what professional steps could be taken to improve the internal security of the school, including school run services…We must understand that if kidnappers may visit a school, they may also hijack a school bus, filled with children.

2. Every effort must be made to engage the Government and her security agencies to design and implement a Security Framework for Schools at this time. The Proposed Security Framework will apply the Doctrine of Necessity and focus more on PREVENTION than CURE…

Permit me to say that inasmuch as I may not say all I think we should do today, but I know there is ONE thing we must NEVER do in the VERY BEST INTEREST OF OUR PRECIOUS CHILDREN. We must NOT keep QUIET, waiting for the manna of security to fall from heaven.
We must act STRATEGICALLY…
We must act DECISIVELY…
We must act URGENTLY…

The safety of our precious children and their teachers is the NUMBER one responsibility of the school leadership and all other stakeholders…It must not be allowed a place under the carpet, noting that learning do not take place in an atmosphere of INSECURITY and FEAR…

The ONLY edge of EVIL over GOOD is the SILENCE of men and women of Good CONSCIENCE…

Let the UNFETTERED CONVERSATION start NOW on the MOST CRITICAL MATTER within the SCHOOL SYSTEM today, noting as The Preacher has always said, Enlightenment is Superior to Enforcement. The trauma and impact of kidnapping of children is eternal for the kidnapped children and the observing Children, except there is DIVINE INTERVENTION.

I, The Preacher shall be available for clarifications and professional guidance both at individual school and association level.

Do have an INSPIRED week.

We SPEAK into the FUTURE…

We SPEAK into the FUTURE..

Our WORDS SHAPEN or DEFORMS our FUTURE…

Most of the WORDS we SPEAK go into the FUTURE to speak for us or against us…

WORDS even end up SEEING a FUTURE the SPEAKER may never SEE…The WORDS that MEN and WOMEN SPEAK LIVE many years after them and DEFINES, REDEFINES or DEFORMS many GENERATIONS, even unborn…

In this age and time of over democratisation of the media and dare-devil hacking, it has become ever true that there is nothing spoken in SECRET that may not be EXPOSED one day…

There is a man called Donald, the son of Trump, who boasted about his dirty escapades of abusing women 11 years ago…

The man, Donald did not know he SPOKE into his FUTURE…Today, by his WORDS he is being JUSTIFIED or CONDEMNED…

There is a woman called Hillary, the wife of Clinton, the mother of Chelsea and grandmother of Charlotte, who tucked away in personal email accounts, matters of state security and secret party matters, until arose men, called PUTIN and Julian ASSANGE, who are said to be master secret revealers by way of hacking…

Therefore, I, The Preacher charge us all to BEWARE of IDLE WORDS, even in the ‘Moving Bus Room,’ ‘Locker Room’or Locked Room…Creatures with wings have now joined secret services to ‘SNOWDEN’ to the sons of men HIDDEN and WORDS, IDLE or ACTIVE…

I, The Preacher charge us to warn our precious children also to beware of the WORDS on SOCIAL MEDIA, since that seems to be the home of most of them…

The FUTURE is just ONE BURTON away, so we must teach our precious children to THINK deeply before they press the GO BURTON on EMAILS and SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS, for once, it is pressed, it is like chameleon faeces, when you clean it with the best of efforts, the smell is indelible, NEVER GOES AWAY…

As an employer of labour, I, The Preacher now check Social Media records of applicants to determine the BALANCE of MINDS…That is the PRESENT and the VERY NEAR FUTURE of our EXISTENCE…

I rest my case, saying, WE SPEAK INTO THE FUTURE…Be CAREFUL what you SPEAK…Do have an INSPIRED week and I remain Sober on my Knees on the LORD’S day.

The International Day of the Girl Child 2016: The Preacher’s TAKE

Today is the International Day of the Girl Child and I will be on Metro 97.7 FM http://www.metro977.fm preaching the Glorious Gospel According to Child’s Rights/Protection and Family Strengthening, focusing on advocacy for the respect of rights of the girl child and I cordially invite you to join us.

The International Day of the Girl Child which was declared in December 2011 by the United Nations to call attention to the many issues that the girl child is faced with all over the world. It was marked for the first time on October 11, 2012.

According to UNWOWEN website (www.unwomen.org), ‘the theme for this year’s International Day of the Girl Child, on 11 October, “Girls’ Progress = Goals’ Progress: A Global Girl Data Movement”’ UNWOMEN further shed light on the theme as follows, ‘it is a call for action for increased investment in collecting and analyzing girl-focused, girl-relevant and sex-disaggregated data. One year into the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, improving data on girls and addressing the issues that are holding them back is critical for fulfilling the Sustainable Development Goals.’

The international Non-Governmental Organization, Plan International, which was in the forefront of campaigning for the declaration of the day by the United Nation and which is the lead campaigner concerning the day and what it represents for the girl child is today leading ‘more than 250 #GirlsTakeover events across the globe they will be demonstrating the strength, power and ability of girls to change the world. The focus of the campaign is to get ‘girls around the world step into the shoes of presidents, mayors, business leaders and more for on 11 October to demand justice and equality.’ The details of how to participate in the events are stated on their website, http://www.plan-international.org.

One major issue that has come to the fore today is the issue of ‘child marriage.’ According to statistics, it has been found that ‘one in three girls in developing countries (except China) get married before they turn 18.’ This translates to the fact that 15(fifteen) million children may be ‘married’ out before they are 18 years and this act truncates their childhood, education, health and gets them to begin to have children when they are themselves children and are not prepared for same both psychologically and physiologically. It is found that 2(two) million children give birth under 18 and 120(one hundred and twenty) million children have experienced sexual violence. According to Plan International, ‘it’s estimated around 1 in 3 women worldwide have experienced physical or sexual violence in their lives.’

Today provides us another golden opportunity to call attention gender issues in our nation and continent today. Gender is today a touchy issue for young people particularly in Africa. The reason is that we live a society that is male dominated and many still nurse the backward notion that the girl child is inferior to the boy child.

This unfounded belief of the superiority of one gender over the other or inferiority of one gender to the other has passed from one generation to the other. It is sad that this belief is finding its way in the midst of today’s children and young people.

By virtue of what the society teaches, many young people believe today that they are superior just by the fact that they are boys. On the other hand many believe that they are inferior merely by the fact that they are girls.

Having worked with children and young people in the last 18(eighteen) years, we see this belief affecting the relationship which exists between the male and female genders.

It is sad that despite many achievement of the female gender, the majority of the society still do not believe that the girl child is a complete child.

My focus today is to help children; young people and their caregivers understand and accept that God created us MALE and FEMALE in HIS IMAGE for a reason. He did not make a mistake.

I want to help children and young people to understand and accept that gender is a gift from God and an expression of His diversity and difference in manifestation. Gender places no limit on any child or young people. Therefore, gender has nothing to do with superiority or inferiority. It has all to do with the role, which God has assigned to each gender and must be understood and accepted that way.

Gender is simply defined as ‘the state of being male or female.’ This is simple and straight to the point. Yet it is an instruction. It does not talk about one gender being the PLUS and the other being MINUS.

It is simply a STATE OF BEING, it is a STATE OF LIFE…The rest is in your mind. The rest is in how you see yourself whether as PLUS or MINUS.

God did not give one gender dominion over the other. MALE and FEMALE are equal before God according to our individual assignment.

Do have an INSPIRED day, Thinking the CHILD, Thinking TODAY, Thinking the FUTURE.

REBELS ON MIND ON MY MIND(1)

I, The Preacher was set to proceed on my four-day Third Missionary Journey to the State of Akwa-Ibom, the Capital City of Uyo, in the Region of South-South of our great land of Nigeria, to be hosted by a focused, passionate and visionary educationist, Rev. Mrs. Kike DAVID of School Affairs Consult and her dearly beloved, humble and supportive, husband, Rev. David, when the thoughts of my heart was filled with the word, ‘REBELS’.’

As I, The Preacher landed in Uyo, the word, ‘REBELS’ has metamorphosed into ‘REBELS WITH A CAUSE.’

Throughout my stay in Uyo, though, I spoke thousands of words, breathing safe and sound in the depth of my heart is the strange phrase, ‘REBELS WITH A CAUSE.’

I, The Preacher today gives expression to the pregnancy of my heart to talk of ‘REBELS WITH A CAUSE.’

By REBELS, I do not mean those who present and project their prejudices as cause, holding our world to unnecessary ransom…

I think of those who engage the STATUS QUO and keeps her on her toes for the BEST INTEREST OF HUMANITY as DIVINELY DESIGNED…

I think of those who employ PEACE, STRATEGIC and SUPERIOR THINKING to bring the SYSTEM to HONOUR the DIGNITY of HUMAN PERSON…

I think of children, men and women, who say NO to LIMITATIONS in ARTS, SCIENCE and TECHNOLOGY, SOCIAL SECTOR, COMMERCE and FAITH and have now created LIMITLESS POSSIBILITIES for a BETTER WORLD than they met it…

I think of those large hearted children, men and women, who pioneered NATIONS, INDUSTRIES, SOCIAL INTERVENTIONS, IDEOLOGY, INVENTIONS when mortals dare not attempt…

I think of those who are the SOCIAL CONSCIENCE of HUMANITY, whose every fiber of their beings is ETERNALLY SOLD to a NOBLE but UNPOPULAR CAUSE, till DEATH do them part, preparing to render ACCURATE ACCOUNTS to their EXPECTANT MAKER…

I think of children, men and woman, who have transcended the many INFIRMITIES of MORTALITY…GREAT SOULS, whose CREED of EXISTENCE is summed up in these sober words, ‘THE WORLD IS A MARKETPLACE, SACRIFICES ARE ITS REWARDS…’

In this SAINTHOOD of GREATNESS, who ‘MARCH INTO HELL FOR A HEAVENLY CAUSE,’ I, The Preacher seek all the days of my LIFE to be named…So HELP ME GOD…

NOTICE: I, The Preacher shall make my Third Missionary Journey to the highly esteemed The Father’s House Church, Akute, Ogun State(tfhconline.org.ng) on Sunday, October 16, 2016 under the able leadership of the distinguished Rev. (Dr.) & Rev. (Mrs.) Richard & Rita UDOH, preaching the Glorious Gospel According to Child RIGHTS/PROTECTION and Family STRENGTHENING in the two Sunday Services: 8:15AM & 10:00am…I cordially invite you to join us if you are in the area or you are eager to hear the Glorious Gospel on the LORD’S Day.

Do have an INSPIRED week.

Yours IN THE BEST INTEREST OF THE PRECIOUS AFRICAN CHILD,
The Preacher Sober on his Knees on the LORD’S Day.
