Live by Soundness (2)

Opening Charge

‘A man will spend a large chunk of his time on his priority. A lot of times we may not define our priority, but we define it by the use of our time.’

Today is a beautiful day. It is one of the days that the Lord is set to show up in matters that concern me. I am excited to be here today and I mean it with all my heart. Please join me today as I share with you the second part of our discussion on living by soundness.

To live by soundness, as I said yesterday is to live by priority. I believe that your priorities demands three major things from you: time, energy and sacrifice. If you want to know a man’s priorities check out the things, he uses his time on. A man will spend a large chunk of his time on his priority. A lot of times we may not define our priority, but we define it by the use of our time.

A man also channels his energy in the direction of his priority. Energy is different from time. You may put your time on a project and not put your energy. Your energy is both physical and mental. The things you direct your mental and physical energy to are your priorities.

Sacrifice simply means to deprive yourselves of specific benefits and pleasures in other for you to pursue a particular desire or cause. A man deprives himself of benefits in pursuit of his priorities. He sacrifices a whole lot of things in the pursuit of his priorities.

If you desire to define your priorities today, you must begin to take a critical look at the things you spend your time, energy and sacrifices on.

I guess, I should sign out here. Tomorrow is another glorious day to set ourselves on FIRE.

Live by Soundness (1)

Opening Charge

‘The tragic challenge however is that many spend their time on distraction till they have no time left for priority. Such fellows have become experts in distraction and therefore become nuisance to themselves, immediate environment and society at large.’

Hello friends. Sure you had an INSPIRED weekend. I am also persuaded that we are set for a glorious week. Believe me friends; it is as far as your eyes can see. The state of the nation is too small to limit us. We are only limited by our sight. Our sight informs the quality of our mind. Our mind informs the quality of our life.

I hope we enjoyed the series on decoding your identity. I think after a man or woman has decoded his/her identity, he/she will be in a good position to determine and set his/her priority right.

Soundness simply means to live by priority. Priority simply means to approach life according to order of importance. We are creatures of priority. Look at it from your physical development. You grow according to physiological order. Priority is governed by universal principles, which can never be broken.

The truth of the matter is that we will always have time for everything we are created to do. What we will not have time for is distraction. The tragic challenge however is that many spend their time on distraction till they have no time left for priority. Such fellows have become experts in distraction and therefore become nuisance to themselves, immediate environment and society at large.

Until we determine and set our priorities in life, we cannot maximise our existence. If you have successfully decoded your identity, it will be an easy task for you to determine your priority. Your priority in life is directly tied to your identity. Your identity determines your priority; your priority determines the rest of your life.

May I leave you with these questions: what is your priority in life? Have you found it? If you have found it, have you articulated it? If you have articulated it, does it guide and guard your existence? If it guide and guard your existence are you set to reproduce yourself in your observers?

Join me tomorrow as I discuss how to determine your priority. You are already living by priority. It is either determined or by default. I will show you tomorrow by the grace of God, you priority. Have an INSPIRED WEEK.

WHO DO YOU SAY I AM?

Hello dear friends. Sure you are doing well and you enjoyed your week. I brought our discussion on decoding your identity to a close yesterday. I will like to share with you a poem on identity as our parting words. Please enjoy.

Ask God,
He made you,
When you need where to make critical adjustments in accordance to His will;
You can trust His impartial accuracy…

Ask your spouse,
The one before who you are naked but not ashamed,
When you need to know who you are at your freest /most carefree moments;
You can trust his/her no-holding-back commitment (IF you cultivate it and you are willing to listen beyond the boundaries of familiarity…)

Ask a mentor,
He has grace to instruct you,
When you want candid opinion that can pace you for meaningful improvement that comes with a commitment to submit to a higher authority;
You can trust his/her candour…

Ask an intimate friend,
He has the right tools by reason of fellowship,
When you need to take inventory of your attitude during intimate fellowship for self-improvement;
You can trust his/her faithfulness…

Ask a protege,
He learns from you,
When you want to take a test in humility;
You can trust his/her respectful but honest submission…

Ask a protege
He/she honours you,
When you want to know if he/she has the true revelation of who you really are;
You can trust his sincerity…

Ask an old-lost-but-found ‘friend,’
He/she has lost track of you,
When you want to reverse to yesterday and live from there;
You can trust his ‘nuisance value.’

Ask a sycophant,
He/she has not truth in him/her,
When you want your ego massaged unto self-deception;
You can trust empty adulation…

Ask a stranger
He/she knows nothing about you,
When you lack self-esteem and you are desperate for validation of men,
You can trust his/her inaccurate conclusions…

Ask yourself,
You know your inner battles,
When you want to face the brutal fact and be true to yourself in search life-saving changes ,
You can trust the inner voice…the voice of your conscience…

Who have you asked lately?
I have also asked myself too: ‘Who have you asked lately…’

WHO YOU ARE DETERMINES WHO YOU REALLY ASK.

Decode Your Identity (13)

Opening Charge
‘…The longest journey you will ever take in life is the journey between your head and your heart. The sad thing is that it is a journey the majority never made in a life time.’

Sure we are doing well today. I’m doing great. I have been in a conference since Sunday on Child Protection procedures, organised by UNICEF. It is been a great time here, learning best practices and global standards on how to do all in the best interest of the child. I’m been INSPIRED to be more resolute in my commitment to a crusade to bring to the very front burner of private and public consciousness the rights and responsibilities of the child for due respect.

We got the last busstop yesterday in our journey of self-discovery. Today I want to share with you the benefits of making the this long journey. I call it a long journey as someone said, the longest journey you will ever take in life is the journey between your head and your heart. The sad thing is that it is a journey the majority never made in a life time.

The truth is that when you take the journey of self-discovery as I have shared in the last few days, you will land in the realm of becoming the pioneer of your future. When you go through the process, you will not only be set to become the pioneer of your future, you will arrive at your destination with your values. Until you become the pioneer of your future, you do not have the capacity to lead your pupils into their own future.

I charge you that this is one journey you must make and the decision to make it is all within your power.

Have an INSPIRED Day.

Decode Your Identity(12)

Opening Charge:

‘I therefore charge you that change is an ever-present possibility for any living person, who is ready to take responsibility for his or her personal peace and destiny.’

It is a beautiful morning. I’m in the mood for a mighty miracle. Please remember me in your prayers.

I’m glad we have come to the last busstop in our journey to self-discovery. It is call begin to live. We began from love and accept yourself and moved to identify positive and negative childhood experiences. We stopped briefly to discuss identify the requirements for healing. From there we moved to subscription to the healing requirement and stopped yesterday at submission to the healing requirements.

I will like to lead you to a simple busstop: it simple reads, begin to live. Principles are not meant to be learnt and crammed. They are meant to aid us to live a better life.

Many of us have become principle droppers. Who is a principle dropper? A principle dropper is someone who is in the habit of dicussing the principles he doesn’t practice or has any plan to practice. As a matter of fact, principle dropping is a distraction to practicing principle.

Principle dropping gives you a sensation of living a principled life but denies the substance thereof. Susbtance here refers tangible results as a result of delibrate efforts made by a person towards self-improvement.

My charge to you today is that you must take your destiny into your hand and begin to live. It is never too late to shake off your past and take hold of your future. The opportunity for change is ONLY truncated by the termination of breath.

I therefore charge you that change is an ever-present possibility for any living person, who is ready to take responsibility for his or her personal peace and destiny. I therefore charge you today to take up your bed and walk out of your limitations, using the principles I have shared with you.

Before I get out of here please permit me to make this observation that each of these principle are linked to one another but are independent. It means one cannot compensate for another. We must make conscious efforts to see the installation, nurturing and monitoring of each of the principles.
Thank you and do have an INSPIRED day.

How to Handle a Bully (2)

By

Taiwo Akinlami

Hello dear children I am happy to be with you this day. Today, I want to continue the topic I began last week, how to handle a bully. You know, I said it was not good for you to be a bully and I said I will show you how stop being a bully.

Let me quickly show you three reasons why I believe children bully other children. I think the first is when a child is being bullied from home, a child, who sees the parents bully one another or who sees his parents bully his/her siblings.

Since a child is produces after his/her environment, he/she may end up bulling others as a result of his experience from home. The story was told of a child, who was asked for the name of the parents in school. She responded by saying, ‘my dad’s name is ‘stupid’ and my mum’s name is ‘foolish’.’ Who is that brilliant child, who can tell me the reason for the child’s response? Good, you got it. The parents (dad and mum) were in the habit of calling each other abusive names when they disagree in the presence of their children.

The second reason why a child becomes a bully is when the child does not feel secure about himself or herself. What do I mean? If a child is not loved at home by parents and siblings, he/she does not love himself/ herself or believe in himself. He/she in turn does not love others and would not see the reason to settle issues with friends or school mates in peace. He/she does not have confidence in himself/herself to discuss issues with his/her friends or classmates and solve problems in peace. He/she does not believe he will get justice, so he takes the law into his/her hands.

Oh, my space is up. Join me next week as I share with the third reason why children bully other children, my own story of being a bully and how you can stop being a bully. See you next week.

Whitney’s Life&Times: My ‘Away-from-the-crowd’ Perspectives

I watched intensely the Service of Songs for Whitney on CNN and it is moving…It is interesting that the world stood still for a prodigious music legend.

From the testimonies of those who related with her first hand, she was an incredibly wonderful woman, with a beautiful and golden heart.

One lesson I take away from the Whitney life and times is that she was a wonderful woman, who made serious mistakes. We must separate her person(her beautiful heart) from her mistakes…Let he/she that has not sin cast the first stone. Still we must judge and analyse her mistakes (as we judge and analyse ours) as lessons for ourselves and our children.

In the midst of all these uncensored accolades, as a Christian, who is opportuned to speak to young people from time to time, I must make the distinction and teach myself and young people accordingly lest we think her life was an example we must copy word for word.

As OJ Simpson’s mentor told him, ‘fame is an accident, money do develop wings, only character will last.’ Have an INSPIRED day
