SYLVESTER OROMONI AND CHILD PROTECTION ISSUES ARISING: LESSONS FROM OTHER JURISDICTIONS
Allegation of the magnitude of Sylvester Oromoni’s will never find a space under the carpet in a sane nation, first, second or third world where the lives of her precious matter.
In a nation that is worthy of her precious children does not shroud investigations into an allegation of the Sylvester Oromoni’s magnitude does not neglect thoroughness, due process and administrative protocol in her investigation, arriving at questionable conclusions that have no bearing with the 21st century procedures required for such cases.
In a nation where government and its officials have their humanity and conscience intact, the Child Protection issues surrounding the death which causes are alleged to have occurred within the school system will be in the front burner of the discussion with a view to forestall a reoccurrence.
Since we do not have a example of such conscience-led commitment in Nigeria, we took a trip to first and third world countries to find stories for our lessons and direction as to how to handle the Sylvester Oromoni’s case and make it a watershed for the agitation for Securing A Friendly and Protective Environment for our precious children here https://youtu.be/TK1B9hLsV4w
We concluded the sobering broadcast calling for the Sylvester Oromoni’s Commission of Public Inquiry, which mandate will include:
- Call for petition from parents who have lost their precious children under questionable circumstances in schools in the last 20 years to submit petitions.
- Find the circumstances surrounding the circumstances surrounding the deaths of children, indict the caregivers found wanting and compensate the families of the children.
- Request for memoranda from experts in the field of Child Protection of how to ensure the safety of our precious children within the school system
- Punish the findings of the commission of enquiries and recommendations on Securing A Friendly and Protective Environment for our precious children.
We hope you will continue to join us in this campaign, #NOPROTECTIONNOSCHOOL until the same becomes flesh and dwell among us to order our collective behaviour in the direction and dimension of Securing A Friendly and Protective Environment for our precious Children.
