Decode You Identity (4)

Opening Charge:

Accept and love yourself that you are and know.

Hello friends. I am glad you are doing well today. I had a great and exciting time yesterday, speaking to the gems at the Yabatech Secondary School. I tell you, our nation has a great future in these gems, who are already taking leadership positions in their lives. Of a truth, these gems are leaders of today. They have the capacity to take a decision for a glorious future.

As I promised yesterday I will begin to share with you the 6 bus-stops in this journey of self-discovery as follows:

Accept and love yourself that you are and know: I think the first step in discovering your identity is for you to accept yourself, love yourself as you are. The truth is that until you accept yourself, you cannot love yourself.

What does it mean to accept yourself? It simply means that you accept yourself, knowing that though, you are not perfect but you are not good enough for self-condemnation. Nature does not allow vacuum. If you do not accept yourself, you must condemn yourself. There is no middle of the road or sitting on the fence.

Please note that accepting yourself does not mean becoming complacent about self-improvement. It simply means, accepting yourself enough to recognise that you have definite areas of improvement in your life but you will enjoy your life where you are on your way to where you are going.

If you do not accept yourself, it will be difficult for you to see the things you need to change in your life. You feel too condemned to attempt a change. A man who doesn’t accept himself has the tendency to be double-minded.  He is a little to his past and a little to his future. He however spends more time in his past than in his future. He has not taken responsibility to his present state, by deciding to make the best of his life from where he is.

He is still involved in the blame game on how he got to where he is now. He blames his childhood, the schools and all that did not work well in his past. Yes, his past experiences are formidable and their impact must be acknowledged and analysed for the purpose of moving into a better future. Dwelling hopelessly on your past experiences leads to analysis paralyses, which is the password to stagnation.

When you, accept yourself, you must take a conscious effort to love yourself? What does it mean to love yourself? It is to feel affection for yourself as you are. Please not that if you do not love yourself that you are, you will never love yourself that you hope to be become. Love is NOW.

Join me tomorrow as I share with you some of my story along the line of accepting and loving myself.

POINT 2 PONDER:

Dwelling hopelessly on your past experiences leads to analysis paralyses, which is the password to stagnation.

Have an INSPIRED Day.
