The United Nations, at its General Assembly in November 2014, declared 15 July as World Youth Skills Day.
Here is the theme for 2020: Skills for a Resilient Youth in the Era of COVID-19 and Beyond
I am paying attention to the phrase, ‘Resilent Youth.’
Resilience helps our precious young people to live a triumphant life, irrespective of the challenges they encounter.
The real determinant of peace in life is never what happens outside us but what happens within us.
At this very trying and unprecedented times for our precious young people, when the forces of abuse subtly creep in to possess their precious souls and do eternal damage, we must speak to the core of their inner strength.
We must help them to build resilence; call them to mental awareness and alertness; sharpen their reflex to identify all forms of abuse and respond astutely through preventive skills and keep their mental health intact.
The key to resilience is self discipline, which begins with the ability of the young person to respect himself or herself.
That is exactly our focus at the League of Greatness® Africa meeting, holding on Saturday, July 18, 2020 with our precious young people as we discuss, How to RESPECT YOURSELF.
