FROM SYLVESTER OROMONI TO CHIMDALU ONYEKWULUJE: I DO NOT DEMAND JUSTICE FROM AN UNJUST SYSTEM, TESTED NEST OF KILLERS(2)

The hand of the Nigerian state drips of the blood of many innocent souls and the heart of it’s handlers are ossified and their humaneness comprised. Therefore what it takes to do justice is not in them or the systems they run.

So what do we demand for from the Nigerian state concerning our precious children and their deaths within our school? Our demand is not from Nigerian state to do justice. If we have any demand at all it is from the Nigerian people to see the Nigerian state for what it is and seek to change it by all peaceful means necessary.

At the root of the crisis of protection within the schools in Nigeria is the state of the nation. At the root of the state of our precious children within the schools is the gross dereliction of duty on the part of the personnel of it’s regulatory bodies. At the root of the ineptitude of the regulatory bodies is because they are not institutions, which founding principles are not the common good. The foundation lacks common good as it aim because the people do not matter. The people do not matter because they have been convinced that they are powerless.

Our advocacy is for the activation of the social conscience of the people or revival of the battered souls that they may generate a PUBLIC WILL that can birth an everlasting social and economic change for Nigeria.

So why the #NOPROTECTIONNOSCHOOL Campaign? To put the Nigerian state and its cohorts on the spot, exposing them for who they are. Our advocacy therefore a demand for justice. It is a demand from us to fight and Institutionalize justice on our own terms, so that when the table finally turns, as Beautiful Nubia will say, our demands will be our compass and our bond and point of reference to do the right thing.

I guess I should rest the wheel of my advocacy and wait to return tomorrow to discuss with you my experience with a UNICEF while filming a documentary on me few years ago and how Child Protection System was not compromised.
