Decode Your Identity (2)

Opening Charge:

Human beings are coded beings. We are coded by our experiences and environments.

Hello fellow teachers. I am sure we are doing well today as we warm for the weekend. It is going to be a very busy weekend and week for me. On Saturday, February 4, I will be with the pupils of S.T & T Regency International School, G.R.A Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria. I will be sharing with them our Guide to Young People’s Value-based Personal, Family and Societal Transformation- I’ M D-SMARTTEESSTT™. Pray for my team and I for unusual impact in the lives of these precious ones.

Without taking your time further, I think we should jump into the business of the day.

Please note that the word, decode is carefully used here. Human beings are coded beings. We are coded by our experiences and environments. The majority have never met their real selves. Many once met themselves but have now lost touch with the reality of who they are. Many other are in and out of who they think or believe they have decoded themselves to be. People in this category are living confused. Only few have been able decode and live a life of meaning and impact.

The truth is that as teachers, we find ourselves in all of the foregoing categories. Sadly, only few of us are in the last category. My goal as I do this series is to see how I can get majority of us to find ourselves comfortable and safe in the last category.

You need the working password that will give you consistent and free access to who you are. Here are the three passwords:

I. The knowledge of God: for man to decode himself, he must be aware and accept the sovereignty of God. He must understand that God rules in the affairs of man. He must understand and accept the fact that he is created in the likeness and image of God and that irrespective of his dark experiences, he was created good and perfect by God. He must understand that God is the source of his identity and he (man) is a resource.

II. The knowledge of himself in the light of God’s opinion: we are not to be defined by our experiences but by God’s opinion about us. God did not create a failure. He created a relevant being, YOU. God did not create an emotional wreck. He created YOU to be as bold as a lion. If we do not diligently find out the opinion of our creator about us, we will end up defining ourselves by our negative experiences.

III. The knowledge to apply to our situations at all times, our understanding of God’s positive opinion about us and the fact that we are created in the likeness and image of God. I implore us to meditate on these passwords and I want to assure YOU that it will open you up to a new level of self-awareness.

Join me tomorrow as I share with you 6 principles that helps you to put the passwords to use effectively.

POINT 2 PONDER: God did not create a failure. He created a relevant being, YOU. God did not create an emotional wreck. He created YOU to be as bold as a lion. If we do not diligently find out the opinion of our creator about us, we will end up defining ourselves by our negative experiences.

Have an INSPIRED Day.
