Opening Charge:

‘I must hasten to add, here that the clear definition and declaration of who you are and the boldness to defend same is enhanced by your ability to decode your identity.’

Welcome to Daily FIREWorks. It gives me great pleasure to be with you today. I must express my gratitude to God for the grace to be here today. I thank you for visiting us today. I am sure you will find your visit here worth your precious time. I must also thank those who left comments. Please keep them coming.

Permit me today to discuss with you as a teacher/instructor the need for you to decode your identity. It has been said that ‘children do not do what you say. They only do what you do.’   It is an established truth of life that we produce after our own kind. And by extension, we cannot give what we do not have.

Therefore, the truth of the matter is this: as a teacher, you have no other tool of effective teaching and impact except your values. I mean your way of life. By your values, I talk about your boundaries of habitation of your behaviour as a human being. It determines what you and why you do them. The other words for values are principles, standard, moral, ethics and ideals.

One thing that stood out in the lives of all the great and influential teachers we have studied in the course of the TeacherFIRE™ Revolution and are still studying is that they are people of defined values. As a matter of fact, their greatness and effectiveness was proportional to their value-based living.

You see, the paramount question here is, how do you become a person of values? The answer is very simply. It is established that until you discover and define yourself, you cannot define your values. In fact, the clear definition and declaration of who you are and the boldness to defend same is synonymous with living a life of values. And until you are able to successfully engage in the foregoing exercise, the sincere desire to impact others will surely end in acute frustration.

I must hasten to add, here that the clear definition and declaration of who you are and the boldness to defend same is enhanced by your ability to decode your identity. In my last 15 years of daily pursuit of enduring personal change, I have discovered three major passwords to the decoding of your personal identity.

These passwords are authored by God and are in agreement with universal laws of human existence. Please, join me tomorrow as I share with you these passwords. You can’t afford to miss it.  Thank you for your time.

POINT 2 PONDER:

Therefore, the truth of the matter is this: as a teacher, you have no other tool of effective teaching and impact except your values. I mean your way of life.

Have an INSPIRED Day.

I will like to share with us a comment left on my Facebook in-box by a consistent and informed stakeholder:

    Dear Taiwo

Once again a very happy and fruitful 2012. I must say that this is a very insightful path to toe at a time when there is so much outcry about the rot in our educational system.

A quick analysis; the problem in our educational system is both a product of our societal dysfunctional value system and the individuals inability to distill right from wrong.

Going forward, I will suggest that beyond the Daily FIREWorks via the internet, you may begin to consider (that is if you have not already done so) direct intervention with real life classroom teachers for the purpose of raising a group of teachers who will be able practice the principles you will be elucidating through the Daily FIREWorks revolution, evaluate the impact of this over time and replicate in other locations. Just my thoughts running wild I guess.
I see a future for these and I mean it.

    My warmest regards
    Kate Ibeanusi
