I have known Dele Farotimi for over 25 years as friend, brother, confidant and comrade since we served in the Student’s Union Government of the Lagos State University. He was the President and I was the Director of Welfare and his right hand man in the exco.

Over the years and even in our youth and the raw excuberance it carried, I have never known @delefarotimi to be frivolous or sensational or be interested in calling attention to himself. Of a truth, he is a patriot of a nation that is yet to be born.

It is in the light of the foregoing that I believe with every fiber of my being his assertions that certain elements, within the Lagos State ruling hegemony, whose names have been submitted in a petition to the DSS and the Nigerian police are after his life.

I believe and stand with @delefarotimi and I call on every Nigerian of good conscience to demand for the protection of the Nigerian state for him and the state security apparatus to investigate this matter earnestly.

Let it be known that these threats in themselves will not slow down the peaceful and altruistic agitations that will accelerate the demise of both the Lagos State ruling hegemony and the Nigerian running class as a whole.
