First, I will like to dedicate this piece to the LOVE of my life, the wife of my youth, Oluwafunmilayo Afolashade Elisabeth AKINLAMI, who I love dearly and in whom I am well pleased.

I wish you all, distinguished readers and duty bearers a great Valentine’s Day celebration with your loved ones.

Today, I will like to talk about LOVE but not in the general regard…My focus is LOVE for our precious children. Though, I believe that LOVE for our precious children is a daily affair, I beg to use the opportunity of Valentine’s Day celebration to nudge our conscience about the CRITICAL subject of LOVE as our precious children perceive it.

LOVE surely means many things to many people, depending on their state in life…The greatest lovers are those who know how to show it, thereby touching the core of the heart of the loved…Many are self-acclaimed lovers, who have frustrated the ones, they love because they lack the skill to touch the heart of the loved. In turn, many lovers are frustrated that they are not able to reach the core of the ones they love.

It is important to note that LOVE is not an end in itself…It is a means to an end…The end of LOVE is to successfully invest in the DIGNITY of HUMAN PERSON of the LOVED…Helping the LOVED to see his/her invaluable worth under GOD.

It seems anyone or everyone, who seeks to LOVE genuinely knows that LOVE GIVES of itself and substances…But, I think the greatest challenge for even genuine lovers is WHAT to GIVE, WHEN to GIVE and HOW to GIVE it…WHAT to GIVE, WHEN to GIVE and HOW to GIVE it will depend on the lover’s accurate understanding of the person of the loved and his/her core needs thereof…

The foregoing separates the impulsive lovers from skillful and calculated lovers. This is the difference between God, the greatest and perfect LOVER, who HIMSELF is also LOVE and man.

LOVE, to our precious children means just two things: ATTENTION and APPRECIATION. ATTENTION and APPRECIATION is an INVALUABLE investment in the DIGNITY of HUMAN PERSON of our precious children. It is also a SACRIFICIAL commitment to helping our precious children to DISCOVER and DEFEND the eternal truth that they are made in very IMAGE and LIKENESS of GOD.

The meat of today’s admonition is that as primary and secondary caregivers, until LOVE for our precious children becomes one number one PRIORITY, we will only pay lip service to same. The beginning of making LOVING our precious children a conscious PRIORITY is our clear understanding of what LOVE means to children.

How do we measure PRIORITY? I think I will dedicate the whole of next week to sharing on this very important part of our discussion.

Do have an INSPIRED Valentine Celebration with your LOVED ones.

RediscoveredCITIZENSHIP: Key to Meaningful and Enduring Social Contributions and Interventions

Today, I really caught between two opinions, whether to do this piece or not. I suddenly began to feel that maybe I bother my readers with too much of my ideology week in week out…Again, I thought to myself that I have always received commendation and encouragement for the thoughts I share on the platforms God has magnanimously given me. Though, I have received useful and priceless suggestions and constructive criticism, I am yet to be told I constitute a nuisance to the precious people, whose space I post my thoughts.

To put this feeling to rest however, I have decided to bring it to the public domain for a Public Declaratory Order(PDO)…I desire your sincere response to this self-instigated PDO: Do I have your permission, great people to continue to post to your space, my thoughts on Legal Enlightenment and Social Development, which covers Childhood Preservation and Protection Culture, The LAWPRENEURSHIP Academy, ProjectSEA, Public Interest Career Development Initiative? I earnestly await your sincere responses.

On Friday, February 26, 2016, I will take the stand again at The LEAD Haven & Research Crib to lead discussion at our LEAD Talk event. The focus of discussion is the RediscoveredCITIZENSHIP. We believe that the key to any meaningful social intervention is the discovery of your true identity as a citizen in a Third World Country in the historical definition of a State and its purpose of existence.

Almost all of my adult life has prepared me as an authority you may not want to ignore on this matter. I have been around the Organized Social Work Sector from my teen years, learning under the Gamaliels of the sector one-on-one…I picked up the gauntlet to lead a Social Intervention in the area of Legal Enlightenment and Social Development(LEAD) 19 years ago and we have measurable results to show for it, validated by local and international ‘POWER CENTERS,’ to use the words of @olakunlesoriyan. Lives have been transformed in their thousands through our works and our influence keeps expanding within and outside the sectors.

If you desire to challenge the STATUE QUO and you want to do it with abundance of results, we can help in no small way. At the RediscovredCITIZENSHIP LEAD Talk, we will help you to discover and accept as an undeniable truth that the first STATUS QUO you must challenge and subdue is your personal worldview of social engagements in the Third World. Once you are able to Challenge and subdue your own STATUS QUO, you are on your path to enviable and unprecedented results in all of your social concerns.

For who is this program? It is for the leaders and workforce of NGOs, CBOs, FBOs, Social Enterprises, Government Agencies and their Functionaries functionaries at all levels, social workers, Students Union Leaders and other youth leaders etc.

To register, kindly follow the instructions on our handbill or reach us through the details below.

Next week, I will be sharing with you verbatim the experience of those who attended the last edition from very reputable organizations.

Do have an INSPIRED week.

My friend and sister, Ronke Adeniyi ‘poshpartypacks’ shared a video of a child being battered on Facebook…It is unimaginable what was being done to the very small child, who couldn’t have been more than 4 years old…The woman perpetrating the abuse is obviously very sick…I do not think she’s mentally balanced…She and and the child, being physically and emotionally abused need serious help…This is VERY PATHETIC…Yet VERY COMMON…There are countless other children suffering worst kinds of abuse both at LOWEST and the UPPERMOST CRUST of our society and far removed from the lenses of the camera…We are a people already ROBBED of our DIGNITY of HUMAN PERSON and FREEDOM…Our children are mostly at the receiving of our SOCIAL MENTAL DISORDER or DAMAGE(SMD)…I think that is why those who film children being abused these days are more interested in filming the abuse and broadcasting same than rescuing the child from being abused? What society does that? To extol SENSATIONALISATION of abuse over the  PROTECTION of the CHILD and his/her CHILDHOOD?

It is being advocated that the woman must be arrested…I agree WHOLLY…But you see, her arrest does not help the child she already abused…His/her CHILDHOOD is already truncated, except there is divine intervention…
For others, who are yet to be abused, her arrest  may make sense but to the child, who is already abused, it is medicine after death…

You see, I don’t want us to miss the point I am laboriously trying to make…The real POINT in ISSUE is that our PRECIOUS CHILDREN are being abused and ROBBED of their CHILDHOOD by the very people, who are to protect them. I also submit that the abuser are not necessarily WICKED, they only lack a CULTURE of CHILDHOOD PROTECTION and PRESERVATION because they were raised and living in a continent that has no CULTURE of RESPECT for DIGNITY of HUMAN PERSON…
What shall we do when a PROTECTOR becomes a PREDATORS because they do not know better?
I think I have an idea…This is my EUREKA MOMENT…Yes finally, I have found it,after 19 years of toiling in the wilderness of finding last PUBLIC INTEREST SOLUTIONS for an ENDURING PROTECTION and PRESERVATION of the CHILDHOOD of PRECIOUS CHILDRENR…
We must strengthen the cord of ENLIGHTENMENT, which is SUPERIOR to ENFORCEMENT…
Those who are enlightened must make a commitment to empower others…We want to disseminate the findings of this EUREKA MOMENT in a series of program we have slated to begin on Saturday, February 13, 2016…It is FRESH and DIVINELY INSPIRED and we shall share NEW and RADICAL THOUGHTS on Building an ENDURING CHILDHOOD PROTECTION and PRESERVATION CULTURE in AFRICA…Mind Your language…As a dear mentor, @olakunlesoriyan will say, this is strictly for the BIG MINDS…Follow the details on the handbill and REGISTER now…Do have an INSPIRED day.

Dateline was Saturday, January 30, 2016 at our LEAD Haven, Magodo GRA, Lagos, Nigeria. The event was the Taiwo AKINLAMI Academy Appreciation Seminar. It was our noble but humble attempt to reward our believers and clients, who gave us unfettered access to their lives, private and public institutions in 2015.

It is our character to cherish our believers and clients…They have provided the priceless platforms for us to give unfettered expression to the divine commission of Legal Enlightenment and Social Development(LEAD) with its divinely-INSPIRED central theme: ‘Enlightenment is Superior to Enforcement.’

When we picked the gauntlet 19 years ago and began to make entry into public schools and 16 years ago when God opened the doors of the private schools to us through Atlantic Hall, Lagos, it was as if we had embarked on a huge joke both as social enterprise and public interest legal practitioners…

Looking back today, what seemed like a ludicrous joke has become a huge reference point of profound and priceless succor to many individuals, families, private and public institutions, both within and outside Nigeria, who have gladly benefited from our social solutions and interventions in their thousands.  Our message has been received with enthusiasm in over 120 countries of the world; close to 300 hundred primary and secondary caregivers are registered in our Child Protection Culture Academy; today we have 32 highly informative and interactive audio and video programs and numerous e-books and still very much counting. About to burst forth are still great works; international organizations like UNICEF, British Council, SOS Children Villages,  USAID, Child Frontiers and leading groups within and outside the school systems have found our contents not only useful but also COMMENDABLE, COMPELLING  PRACTICAL and ORIGINAL.

To the glory of God and the unalloyed support of our believers and clients, we are becoming an emerging force to reckon with in our field, setting the standards for others to follow both in Nigeria and Africa. God has not only blessed us with CONTENTS that are ORIGINAL straight from His throne of GRACE, He has also loaded us with unique CONCEPTS.

The foregoing, which we still refer to as our very humble beginnings, would have been utterly impossible without the support of our believers and clients, who have shown tremendously encouraging interest in investing sacrificially in our home-grown and original social solutions and interventions in the last 19 years. Many of our believers and clients, by the blessings of God have become the unashamed ambassadors of our message of Legal Enlightenment and Social Development.

We understand, that the best of ideas or solutions will become the sure source of acute frustration and misery to the owners, if there are no channels of fruitful expression. Therefore we celebrate in most profound manner our believers and clients both within and outside Nigeria.

We chose to give our believers and clients our latest findings in our field in the New Year because it is the best in our hands as a Social and Public Interest Knowledge Service Provider. We tried as much as possible to invite all of the believers and clients we worked with in 2015. We want to specially thank those received our gift and blessed us with their priceless presence, namely: SOS Children Villages, LEARN, NINO Foundation, Irede Foundation, RCCG, Promised Land Parish, Child Protection Network, Alimosho, Association of Private Educators of Nigeria(APEN), Oxbridge Tutorial College(OTC), Chrisland Schools, Saint Bernadette Education Services, Vivian Fowler Memorial College, Apata Memorial School, Oko-Oba, Elias International School, TLS, Adorable Treasures Crèche, Treasure House School, Master’s Mark, Taqwa Private Schools, Winsmart Schools and Will & Grace International Schools.

Some of our believers and clients were unavoidably absent and we still celebrate them in no lesser way.

To all our believers and clients, permit us to soberly declare today that we profoundly appreciate your priceless support and we will for no reason or intentionally take you for granted. As the popular saying, Without YOU, there can be no US.’ We earnestly look forward to an enduring relationship with you, knowing that with God on our side and believers like you, we are set to lead a successful PUBLIC INTEREST REVOLUTION through LEGAL ENLIGHTENMENT and SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT, pushing the many frontiers of our divinely-INSPIRED central message: ENLIGHTENMENT is SUPERIOR to ENFORCEMENT.’
Do have an INSPIRED week.
I Taiwo AKINLAMI and I am Sober on my knees on this LORD’S Day, thanking God and celebrating our believers and clients.

Child Labour in Africa: It is a Matter of CULTURE

Dateline: Friday, January 22, 2016, Platform: Africa Today on TVC, Focus of Discussion (FOD): Child Labour in Africa. Duration: 30 minutes, The Mood of The Preacher (MOP): Upbeat but yet very sober: State of Affairs of Child Labour in Africa as shared by The Preacher (TP): 40% of all children (5-14) (48 million) labour FOR SURVIVAL; agriculture is the largest employer of Child Labour; Africa has the WORLD’S HIGHEST INCIDENCE RATES OF CHILD LABOUR. Roll Call: Congo: 80,000 precious Children are involved in mining Copper & Cobalt; Ghana: 2.7 million precious children are involved in agriculture; Kenya: 300,000 precious Children are involved in agriculture; Madagascar: 1.2 Million precious children are involved small scale mining; Morocco: 15,000 precious children are involved in agriculture and domestic servants; Nigeria: 15million precious children are involved in agriculture and domestic servants; Rwanda: 400,000 precious children are involved as domestic workers; Tanzania: 3.1million precious children are involved in domestic servants, sometimes by force; Zambia: 595,000 precious children are involved in agriculture and mining. Age Range: 5-14;

What is child labour? Engagement of our precious children in any kind of work, which rob them of their CHILDHOOD (curiosity, peace, joy, innocence, freedom, and fearlessness). Child labour impairs the child’s mental and physical development. Who are the children involved: Precious children of the hewer of woods and drawers of water in the society; the precious children of the neglected masses of our people (the hoi polloi), denied of their existence by the greed of those in the corridors of power, who swore to defend same. Reason for Child Labour: Survival; Underlining Cause: Abject or crass poverty; Immediate Solution, now recognised by ILO: Social Protection: What is Social Protection? Social protection can be understood as a set of public actions which address not only income poverty and economic shocks, but also social vulnerability, thus taking into account the inter-relationship between exclusion and poverty.

Cause of Poverty: Failure of the state to live up to its part of its social contract, which says, the WELFARE and the SECURITY of the people shall be the primary aim of government; Reason for the Failure of the State: Africa has no respect for dignity of human persons and therefore has no respect for the dignity of her precious children; noting that when a continent has no respect for dignity of human person, her precious children are the most hit as  they depend on the primary and secondary caregivers for protection. The Final and Real Diagnosis: Africa does not have a CULTURE of Child Protection; CULTURE here refers to our VALUE System as a people. The African CULTURE is not necessarily anti-children but it is not DELIBERATELY pro-children. Our Solution: Cultural Orientation or Reorientation. Possibility of the Success of our Solution: VERY HIGH…’There are no hopeless situations, but only hopeless people,’ says Claire Boothe. Our Role: The first role is to understand the issue by gaining fresh perspective on the issue. Gaining new perspective will help us to IDENTITY, UNDERSTAND and LEARN HOW TO PLAY OUR ROLES in the renewed and noble cause to give our precious children a hope and a future by PROTECTION and PRESERVING their CHILDHOOD.

Final WORD: you may want to join us on Saturday, February 30, 2016 in Lagos as we help you to gain new perspective on our CULTURE as it affects matter of PROTECTION and PRESERVATION of CHILDHOOD in Africa. #Countdown: It is 20 days to the hour…You may sent an email, titled; ‘Registration’ to or send me a text om 08033620843.
Do have an INSPIRED week.
I Taiwo AKINLAMI and I am Sober on my knees on this LORD’S Day, pleading the noble cause of our precious children.

Do have an INSPIRED day.

Dateline was Tuesday, January 12, 2016. I was driving through Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way, Ikeja, Lagos State, Nigeria when I spotted a book of interest to me in the hands of a book hawker in traffic.

I bought the book. Thereafter I requested for the number of the male book hawker, who I have now christened Citizen Stephen. I informed him I would like to call to place orders for books as I need them. A simple request or so I thought became a tale of woes…What woes? The common woes of being a hewer of woods and drawers of water in the Third World.

Citizen Stephen told me ‘I do not have a phone’…He said, though he believed that a phone was important to his business but he had more pressing needs. Citizen Stephen has six children, who cannot find a space in the 1,700 public schools in Lagos State…He has to register them in private schools…If he didn’t make that move, his children would have been part of the 10.5 million children, who are out of school in Nigeria. I hope we know that according to UNESCO Education for All Global Monitoring Report (EAGMR), Nigeria holds the world record of having the highest number of its young people out of school.

Citizen Stephen again told me that his landlord just increased his monthly rent from N3,000 to N5,000 and was demanding six months rent advance. With this increment and demand for advance payment of rent, he was afraid he would not be in position to pay his Children’s school fees this term.

Oh, I know what you are thinking…He should have embraced family planning. He should have considered his social standing before embarking on the project of begetting many children…I hear you…

But, I think it is the responsibility of the State to help citizens and families like Citizen Stephen to plan their lives and families, according to bigger plan and projections of the State for their welfare and security. This must be so because of their level of education and exposure as the masses. China is an example in this regards.

I call him Stephen today, because he and others like him are the real martyrs(yet unsung) of the Third World System, which has no respect for the dignity of human person…They are the ‘wretched of the earth,’ in the words of Franz Fanon…They are the ugly and devastating dividends of the mismanagement of our commonwealth of human and materials resources…

To call them citizens is a blatant injustice to the meaning of citizenship…In fact it is to do so much violence to the meaning of citizenship.

I commit this twin-crime of injustice and violence today deliberately for two reasons: First as protest against the system, that we have lost our sense of meaning and only make mockery of global concept by our social practices…The responsibility of government to citizens under the social contract to citizens is security and welfare…When the people do not have access to welfare and security, they are not citizens. They are simply victims of the state and its handlers to live up to the basic reasons for founding the state.

Take it from me friends, Third World, particularly African countries have no citizens. The only citizens they have are small men and women, who have seized the reins of power and only make provisions for their own welfare and security…The victims of they state are treated worse than dogs as they are not even allowed to see, not to talk of eating the crumbs from the table of the citizens.

I was saddened and burned by the story of Citizen Stephen. I am not sad for him, his family and their dehumanization. I am most importantly sad for our humanity as a people…I am sad for the enthronement of an unending circle of poverty by the State…I am sad that Citizen Stephen and his family may never fulfil their God-ordained mandate of dignified living, having being denied of the basics of life, shelter, food, healthcare and education. These are known as economic rights. Most importantly, I am saddened by the fact that the suffering of Citizen Stephen and his family, which the State has successfully built formidable and intimidating structures and systems around to continue in perpetuity is all man-made. Ghandi says, God made enough for our needs and not for our greed.’ It is my view that every human need is traceable to human greed.

I handed Citizen Stephen the much I could, after payment for the book I bought from him. I promised to get back to him. I decided  many years ago not to just complain but do something. I really plan to do under our Adopt-A-Family Education Fund(AE-FUND).

It is a fund you are invited to be part of. If you are interested, I will send to you, on your request the synopsis of the FUND.

I must not end this piece today without placing on record my most profound gratitude to my wife, Oluwafunilayo AKINLAMI, who has supported the fund in no small way; my friend and sister, Lara OMIDIRAN for her financial support and Carley College, Ikeja, Lagos, who gave us a scholarship through secondary school. I am most profoundly grateful.

I think I must rest my case here, soberly on my knees on this LORD’S DAY. Do have an INSPIRED week.

TeacherFIRE Revolution Day at Vivian Fowler Memorial College for Girls
Dateline was Monday, January 4, 2016, we were warmly received at the Vivian Fowler Memorial College for Girls…My team and I were there from 9.00AM – 4.00PM, disseminating our widely accepted and best selling program, The TeacherFIRE Revolution. It was simply Revolution by FIRE as the teachers, who later shared their stories of inner transformation, were ushered into a year of total commitment to the child.

The TeacherFIRE Revolution
The TeacherFIRE Revolution is a registered Trademark of Taiwo AKINLAMI Academy. It is far from being a product of a brain wave, conjecture, unguarded intellectual ejaculation or cunningly devised fables. It is a comprehensive biographical studies of the lives of teachers from diverse generations and climes(First World to Third World), who against all odds transformed the lives of the children under their care through their own transformed lives. The study, which was inspired by my no-very-pleasant childhood experiences in schools, took us over 13(thirteen) of rigorous labour in the laboratory of keen research to figure out and over 50,000 dollars invested. It is important to note that the Revolution is homegrown and ORIGINAL and that we only named it The TeacherFIRE at the inception of dissemination. It was renamed, The TeacherFIRE Revolution by our thousands of participants, who simply described their experience as nothing but REVOLUTIONARY.

The Journey So Far
Our TeacherFIRE Revolution journey did not begin with the great day we had at Vivian Fowler on Monday, January 4, 2016. It has spanned a period of half a decade. Thousands of teachers have benefited from the distinct message of The TeacherFIRE Revolution over the years, within and outside Lagos State, private and public schools, including 900 public school teachers in Lagos State in partnership with L.E.A.R.N and Lagos State Government.

The magic year for The TeacherFIRE Revolution was 2011, when it found an unalloyed believer in the gracious Dr. Mrs. Femi OGUNSANYA, Managing Director of OTC, the leading Sixth Form Institute in Nigeria, Chairman of Association of Private Educators of Nigeria(APEN) and an educationist per excellence, after we disseminated The TeacherFIRE Revolution to her highly esteemed institution of learning, Oxbridge Tutorial College and she fully participated, experiencing the Revolution, firsthand. Dr. Mrs. OGUNSANYA facilitated the dissemination of The TeacherFIRE Revolution at the 3rd APEN Conference to school leaders from all over the country. The Revolution was received with standing ovation, after 4 hours of delivery in 2 sessions, opening the floodgate of invitations to the highly esteemed schools and organisations like Grange, Chrisland, Corona, S.T&T Regency, MeadowHall, Discovery House, Supreme Education Foundation, Oueensland Schools, Treasure House, Master’s Mark, Carley College, Mind Builders, Role Model, Bridge House College, Pampers Private School, Temple School, The Fountain School, Fountain Heights Secondary School, Diamond Private School, Lead-Forte Gate, Taqwa School, Salvation International and Dansol High School, TLS, Anglican Communion Schools, The Children’s Department of the Dominion City Church, UNICEF, NAPTIP, LEAP Africa, Fate Foundation, National Orientation Agency, NAPPS, Lagos, Oyo and Osun States governments, just to mention a few.

The Unique Focus
The TeacherFIRE Revolution promotes Child-focused or child-centred teaching, thereby helping the teacher to focus more on the LEARNER instead of LEANING process and actively engaging and spurring the unfettered interest of the LEARNER in his/her own learning.

When the teacher focuses more on the LEARNING PROCESS more than the LEARNER(the child) as it is the popular practice today, he/she robs the child of CHILDHOOD…When the child is robbed of CHILDHOOD in school, he/she receives the education of every other subject but of himself/herself…He/she is trained to BECOME but not to BE…When a man BECOME without first BEING, you have ACHIEVEMENT without CHARACTER…

Unfortunately, this is what our society celebrates today…Theory of the END justifies the MEANS…A little wonder, our educational system promotes GRADES over CHARACTER…We show the child everything but himself/herself…Until man or woman finds himself/herself, he/she has found and learnt nothing…Finding oneself is from CHILDHOOD and it is most CRITICAL of all the FACTORS of LIVING a life of prodigious MEANING and indelible IMPACT.

Helping a child to find himself/herself through the PROTECTION and PRESERVATION of CHILDHOOD begins with helping the child to be CONSCIOUS of his/her DIGNITY of HUMAN PERSON…That is the CENTRAL MESSAGE of The TeacherFIRE Revolution.

The longevity of an institution of learning does not answer ro edifices…It only answers to the PROTECTION and PRESERVATION of CHILDHOOD.

As a teacher, you must not give your heart rest or your eyes sleep until you attend The TeacherFIRE Revolution…Believe me, it is critical to the honing of your perspective and preparing you for your next level of relevance in the noble profession…As school leaders, in search of generational impact and exponential growth, for which your teachers and the children they teach will be eternally grateful, it is time to sign up for the Revolution…As parents, who sincerely desire a revolutionised teacher for our precious children, The TeacherFIRE Revolution is the answer.

According to William Arthur Ward. The MEDIOCRE teacher TELLS. The GOOD teacher EXPLAINS. The SUPERIOR teacher DEMONSTRATES. The GREAT teacher INSPIRES. The GOAL of The TeacherFIRE Revolution, which it has achieved over and over again in the last half a decade is to raise GREAT Teachers…

It your turn to join the Revolution by bringing The TeacherFIRE Revolution to your constituency(schools, children and youth departments of religious places of worship, higher institutions etc) without further delay.

Permit me to conclude with the  resounding words of Dr. Maggie Ibru, the Founder of S.T&T Regency International School, GRA, Ikeja after we disseminated The TeacherFIRE Revolution to her highly esteemed institution of learning in 2012, where she participated fully, ‘I’m humbled. I must do more for my community, my staff, my students and my world. He(Taiwo AKINLAMI) has shown me that I can never do enough for my world.’

Dear dedicated primary and secondary caregiver, your NUMBER ONE ASSIGNMENT in joining this inevitable REVOLUTION is to share this piece with your constituency…Please do it NOW in the BEST INTEREST OF OUR PRECIOUS CHILDREN. Thank you most profoundly sirs and mas.
Do have an INSPIRED week.
I am Taiwo AKINLAMI and I am Sober on my knees on this LORD’S Day.
